Popular Punjabi singer, actor, and producer Diljit Dosanjh has once again spoken his mind, this time about the hypocrisy he faced from Indian media and officials. Known worldwide for his hit songs and films, Diljit also enjoys massive love from fans across the border in Pakistan. His latest film Sardaar Ji 3 was a big success there, receiving overwhelming support despite political tensions between the two countries.

During a recent show on his Aura Tour, Diljit addressed how his movie release became controversial because of the India–Pakistan conflict at the time. He recalled how unfairly he was targeted, despite the fact that the film had been shot much earlier.

Sharing his frustration, Diljit said:

“When Sardaar Ji 3 came out, it had been filmed long before the conflict, but everyone turned against me and blamed me. Now, cricket matches are being played between India and Pakistan after the conflict, yet no one raises any objections. I have kept these things in my heart, and I have not forgotten the way I was treated. I had answers to all the criticism, but I chose to stay silent. Even then, we condemned the attack and those responsible. We are Punjabis—we always stand with our country, India. We can never go against the nation.”
Diljit’s remarks highlight the double standards he believes artists face when compared to sports and other industries. While he continues to receive endless love from fans in both India and Pakistan, his statement has sparked fresh debate about how politics often overshadows art and entertainment.
